SAP Specialist

Job Summary 

The Financial Applications Specialist works as a primary technical contact for all operational aspects of the Oracle e-Business Suite (ERP) for Gaisano Malls and its affiliate companies. This position will possess breadth and depth of knowledge in the functional ERP areas, including Financials, Human Resources, Inventory, Manufacturing, Order Management, and Purchasing. The position will also possess breadth and depth of knowledge in the technical ERP areas, including alerts, database administration, system administration, and workflow; ensuring that the technical approaches and solutions shall support and enhance the business processes and are in accordance with company standards and policies.

Responsibilities and Duties 

  • Serve as a key member of the Oracle ERP team.
  • Initiates and maintains support for financial applications to include installing, upgrading, troubleshooting and acts as technical liaison and facilitator between all business units, accounting/finance departments to assist in addressing and resolving financial system issues.
  • Diagnose technical and functional issues associated with Oracle e-Business Suite.
  • Effectively communicate and assists ERP super users, users and Operations Support team in troubleshooting functional problems and to transform business need into optimum business solutions.
  • Utilize Oracle Support to research and resolve Oracle e-Business Suites issues.
  • Actively participates in ERP implementation/upgrade activities including initial research, design, setup, development, testing, and validation.
  • Works with ERP functional users to translate user report requirements into technical specifications.
  • Uses technical specifications for all report requests to design, implement, and maintain scalable and extensible business solutions.
  • Documents guidelines, work-instructions, manuals and technical documentation related to the application.
  • Conducts user functional training and systems support technical training across all branches.
  • Perform environment builds, software updates, patches, fixes and configuration changes as needed.
  • Performs Database/Master File related maintenance and regularly schedule system housekeeping and cleanups.
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries against a highly normalized database.
  • Generates various reports such as Master File, Inventory, Sales and Audit Reports requested by users and management.
  • Conducts research on IT best practices and latest technology.
  • Perform other tasks as may be required from time to time.

Essential Skills 

  • To be a successful financial applications specialist, one needs to have an in-depth knowledge of various computer applications and programs with an exposure to the accounting and finance sector. An eye for details and the ability to resolve technical issues with excellent interpersonal communication skills are a pre-requisite. Ability to handle pressure situations and deliver the targets without compromising on quality are also essential. Should be able to work independently as well as interact with the team members as he may need to supervise or train them at times.

Educational Background 

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s/College Degree from any IT/Computer Sciences with a background in accounting and finance.

Experience 

  • Three to five years experience in ERP software implementation, support, administration, either Oracle e-Business Suite or SAP, preferable Oracle e-Business Suite 11i or R12.
  • Oracle or SAP certification a plus.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Personal Qualifications 

  • Preferred 2+ years experience as Oracle applications DBA, 11i or R12, RDBMS 11G/12c.
  • Preferred knowledge in Financial systems and Retail/POS systems.
  • Knowledge in Linux systems an advantage.
  • Proficiency with programming constructs and data structures and at least one programming language skills (SQL, VB, C++, C#, Power builder and the likes).
  • Knowledge in database design and analysis.
  • Technical knowledge of computers and other peripherals.
  • Organized with strong leadership skills and attention to details.
  • Possesses strong analytical, logical and mathematical skills.
  • Honest and hardworking.
  • A team player with good inter personal relation skill.
  • Innovative with quick analytical skills.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information.
