Company Overview 

The DSG Sons Group is a major retail player operating for more than 30 years in the Philippine retail industry. It is currently operating four of the largest shopping malls in Mindanao, six department stores, and six supermarkets. All establishments are named and marketed under the Gaisano brand.

Job Purpose 

To provide technical networking support to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the network infrastructure and networking systems of all branches.

Key Responsibilities

• Installs,  administers, and tests network components such as hubs, routers, switches, cables and other components.
• Designs the network infrastructure (physical and virtual) to ensure the efficiency of the networking systems.
• Maintains network operations and firewall applications and network monitoring applications (e.g., servers, firewall, WEB, proxy, and others) to ensure efficient network operations.
• Diagnoses, isolates, and resolves routine to moderate/ highly complex network related problems ensuring timely results and minimal disruption of operations.
• Troubleshoots network failures and errors and provides technical assistance to internal and external customers, as necessary.
• Provides guidance to operations support staff during emergency work requests.
• Researches on new trends, products and equipment, and makes the necessary recommendations to enhance the current infrastructure of the different branches.
• Makes recommendations to the ICT Operation Support Manager for the layout and arrangement of network components, and performs facility surveys for network communications.
• Assists the ICT Operations Support Manager in assessing proposals of vendors for network components, equipment, cables for new implementations and upgrades.
• Sets up new user accounts and profiles (e.g., VPN account, email, internet/proxy, FTP, messaging and network accounts).
• Performs other tasks as directed from time to time.
