Job Description
Position Summary
A Project Engineer (Python Developer) is responsible to prepare and manipulate large amounts of audio and text data for processing through Appen's tools. He/she, together with a global team of creative developers and mentors, will help create and deliver client-specific formats, design end-to-end solutions, and provide tools to support a project need. He needs to have programming skills necessary to support our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process large amounts of text and audio data
- Load data into company tools for transcription and translation
- Design and develop technical solutions for projects
- Update and retrieve data from SQL databases
- Write python and bash scripts to enable and automate project processes
- Assist the maintenance of existing IT scripts
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Degree in Computer Science
- Experience with SQL databases (esp. PostgreSQL)
- Strong skills in Python
- Comfortable with Linux and/or Mac OS X operating systems
- Familiarity with scripting in Bash
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Willing to work in office based in Davao City
- Work in US time as needed
